Statistical Inquiries
The statistics on mines refer to the information on mining establishments (mines) under concession and which report information under Art. 41 of Decree-Law n.º 30/2021 of May 7 (decree-law approving the regulations on the exploitation of natural mineral deposits); and the statistics on quarries refer to the information on licensed mineral mass establishments (quarries) which, each year, report information under Art. The statistics on quarries refer to the information on licensed mineral mass establishments (quarries) that each year report information under Art. 51 of Decree-Law 270/2001 of October 6, as amended and republished by Decree-Law 340/2007 of October 12 (decree-law that defines the regime of exploitation of mineral masses - quarries).
In order to carry out this statistical operation, concessionaires must send DGEG the statistical data by the end of March each year, by filling out the annual "Single Mine Inquiry" or "Single Quarry Inquiry", which are currently done electronically at DGEG`s Online Services.
