Commissions / Working Groups
DGEG, through Direção de Serviços de Fomento e Estratégia dos Recursos Geológicos, promotes the activity of mineral resources and ensures representation in various committees, working groups, projects and national and international conferences in the area of mineral resources.
This active participation aims at disseminating national geodiversity, promoting the potential use of its mineral resources in order to support the transition to a circular and low carbon economy, as well as monitoring the strategies and policies developed in the European Union and worldwide with impact or interaction with the mineral resources industry.
National Strategy for Geological Resources: Decree nº 8364/2021, dated 16-08-2021, from the Secretário de Estado Adjunto e da Energia, was published in the Official Gazette, creating a working group to identify the actions to be pursued with a view to preparing the National Strategy for Geological Resources, with regard to mineral deposits.
International Copper, Lead and Zinc, and Nickel Study Groups.
Comissão Nacional de Emergências Radiológicas (CNER)
Within the scope of the European Union, in the area of mineral resources, the constant monitoring of the European Commission, namely DG GROW (Directorate General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs), is of particular importance.
