Technical Director

 

Responsible for directing the technical work, holding adequate qualifications and technical competence recognized by DGEG, jointly responsible with the contract holders for the rigorous application of the law, technical standards and good practices in the execution of the work.

 

With the entry into force of Decree-Law 30/2021, of 7 May, a new procedure for analysing the technical directions of mineral deposits was approved at DGEG, complying with article 42 of DL 30/2021 and annex VI, with the general following changes:

 

  • Inclusion of technical directions for exploration;
  • Establishment of limitations on the number of technical directions for each technician, as provided for in paragraph b) of no. 7 of article 42 of DL 30/2021;
  • Counting of limitations with regard to the technical responsibilities of quarries (exploitation of mineral masses) as set forth in paragraph b) of no. 7 of article 42 of DL 30/2021;
  • Differentiated criteria for types of works (open-pit, underground exploitations, exploration), as set forth in paragraph c) of no. 7 of article 42 of DL 30/2021.

 

To exercise the function of Technical Director, the proposal of the Technical Director must be submitted to DGEG for approval, signed by the concession holder and accompanied by the Technician Liability Term proposed to assume this function, containing the elements foreseen in Templates / Minutes.
